At icapps, we are dedicated to minimizing our carbon footprint and making strategic decisions to reduce our CO2 impact. Our main goal is implementing sustainable practices across our fleet, purchasing policy, and various operational aspects. We believe these strategic measures are vital to creating a greener, more sustainable future.

Planting trees for a sustainable future

In line with our mission, we are excited to announce our partnership with Go Forest—an esteemed Belgian organization committed to reforestation and combating deforestation. While our collaboration with Go Forest plays a role in offsetting and compensating for our remaining emissions, it's essential to note that it is not our primary objective. Instead, we consider it an integral part of our holistic approach towards sustainability.

Did you know that trees in Belgium have the remarkable capacity to absorb an average of 200 kg of CO2 throughout their lifetime? By actively partnering with GoForest, we are taking steps toward reducing our carbon footprint. By planting 2,349 trees, we can expect them to capture approximately 469.8 tons of CO2 in the coming years.

The long-term significance of tree planting

It's essential to highlight the enduring impact of tree planting. While young trees may initially absorb less CO2, their carbon capture potential grows as they mature. In Belgium, on average, each tree absorbs approximately 6.67 kg of CO2 per year.

Go Forest: Leading the way in reforestation

Go Forest stands at the forefront of the reforestation movement all over the world, focusing on tree planting, agroforestry, and mangrove restoration projects. They diligently ensure that the right trees are planted in the appropriate regions and actively implement measures for their long-term care and growth.

Recently, Go Forest made waves by introducing Go Ocean. Like its parent branch, Go Forest; Go Ocean operates with unwavering integrity and transparency, united by the shared mission of restoring our natural environment and fostering biodiversity.

Remarkably, an immense 80% of Earth's biodiversity exists within the depths of our oceans. Not only that, but our oceans also play a crucial role in producing 50% of the oxygen we breathe. Spanning over 70% of the Earth's surface, seas and oceans hold paramount significance for our existence.
Understanding the profound importance of our oceans leads us to recognize the urgency of safeguarding these invaluable resources.

Taking meaningful action

By supporting Go Forest's initiatives, your company can make a true impact in reducing CO2 emissions and preserving our planet for future generations.

At icapps, we are super proud to partner with Go Forest in our commitment to sustainability. We aim to inspire fellow companies in Belgium to embrace environmentally friendly practices. And as Go Forest says;

Let's stop dilly-dallying and start planting!
